Dorst Creek Camping Reservations

Dorst Creek Campground is in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in central California. It lies at 6700 feet (2042m) in elevation, 10 miles (16km) from the Giant Forest sequoia grove. It takes about one hour to drive the 29 miles from the Sequoia park entrance on Highway 198. It has campsites for groups over 6. Amenities include flush toilets, RV water-filling station, summer ranger programs, and a pay phone. It is 8 miles from Lodgepole Village, which in summer offers a visitor center, market, deli, snack bar, gift shop, post office, showers, and laundry. The entrance fee for Sequoia and Kings Canyon is $20 for 1-7 days. For general park information, call (559) 565-3341. Plan your visit using www.nps.gov/seki. Pets are not allowed on park trails. They are permitted in campgrounds and other developed areas. Pets must be leashed and cannot be left unattended. Local markets sell firewood. Gathering dead and down wood is allowed; no cutting. No gasoline is available in the park. Be sure to fill up before you enter. Firearms are prohibited, including bb/pellet guns. Fireworks are not allowed. For fishing, a California State fishing license is required (sold at Lodgepole Market when it is open). Bicycles and mountain bikes are not allowed on park trails. Skateboards, scooters, and inline skates are not allowed on park trails or roads, including in the campground. .
