Lodgepole Camping Reservations
Lodgepole Campground is in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in central California. It is situated on the banks of the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River, at 6700 feet (2042m) in elevation. It is just 2 miles (3km) from the Giant Forest sequoia grove and the General Sherman Treethe worlds largest tree in volume. The campground is the closest to many popular day-hike and wilderness trailheads in the Giant Forest Area. Lodgepole campground is very popular and all its sites are reservable. First-come-first served sites are seldom available during the summer especially for weekends and holidays The campground is -mile (400 m) from Lodgepole Village, which in summer offers a visitor center, nightly Interpretive Ranger programs, market, deli, snack bar, gift shop, post office, coin-operated showers and a laundromat. The entrance fee for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks is $20 for 1-7 days. All Inter-Agency passes are accepted at the Entrance Stations. For general park information, call (559) 565-3341. All food, scented items, and garbage must be properly stored in provided bear-resistant food storage boxes-not in your car-24 hours/day. Food-storage box dimensions are 28 high x 33 deep and 47 long. See http://www.nps.gov/seki/planyourvisit/bears.htm for important information about bears in the park. Your campsite is reserved for the camping equipment you have selected. If you arrive at the park with different camping equipment your reserved site might not be able to accommodate it. It is seldom possible to switch to an accommodating site if you arrive with different equipment. Reserving blocks of sitesmore than twofor commercial group camping or large family group gatherings is prohibited. These are single family RV/Tent sites. No gasoline is available in the park. Be sure to fill up before you enter. Check-inCheck in time is 12 noon or later and check out time is by 12 noon on the day of departure. Go directly to the campground kiosk. Please check in prior to occupying your site. Reservation holders arriving after the campground kiosk has closed may go directly to their site but need to check-in at the kiosk the next morning by 10:00am. If arriving after the first day of reservation, call (559) 565-4487 by 12 noon of the second day or your reservation will be forfeited. Visitors who use an Inter-Agency Senior (Golden Age) or Access (Golden Access) pass to obtain a discounted rate for their camping reservation will be asked to present the pass with proper identification at the time of check-in. If not able to meet this requirement the visitor will be responsible for paying the difference between the discounted and regular rates.
